Last year Rose played sparingly for the Eagles. Now he's a starter and is a focal point in LCA's offense. On the year he's averaging 12.8 points and just over five rebounds a game.
This past week Rose took another step forward, averaging 18 points and seven rebounds in four games at the Republic Bank Holiday Classic.
"I think it's going pretty well," he said of his sophomore season. "I can definitely do better at things. I just think that I've been playing hard and doing things to help our team to win."
Rose is playing both on the perimeter and in the post. His mid-range jump shot is improving and he's especially effective when he catches it in the high post and attacks defenders.
"Touching it in the middle of the zone is one of my favorite things to do because I can dish for threes or I can dish to big Jon [Lannertone] down low for lay ups or I can just go by my man," Rose said. "There are so many options, that's why I love playing that spot."
Although Rose is just a 2015 prospect, he's starting to receive interest from colleges.
"It's going pretty well," he said of recruiting. "I've gotten a couple of schools here and there."
