WKU's "Toppers on Tour" making five stops

WKU coaches will be on the road to meet and greet fans in five different cities.

Bowling Green, Ky. — For the fourth-straight year, Western Kentucky University will bring the flavor of campus on the road to five cities in the region this June and offer fans the opportunity to meet, mingle and have pictures taken with WKU coaches and athletic department personnel.

"Toppers On Tour" will stop in the Louisville area on June 10, Owensboro on June 11, Nashville on June 13, Elizabethtown on June 17 and Glasgow on June 18. Scheduled to appear at the tour stops are WKU Director of Athletics Todd Stewart, head football coach Bobby Petrino, head men's basketball coach Ray Harper and head women's basketball coach Michelle Clark-Heard, with assistant football coach Jeff Brohm appearing in Owensboro instead of Petrino. In addition, head volleyball coach Travis Hudson will attend the Louisville area stop.

"We have tremendous excitement and momentum surrounding our athletic programs right now," Stewart said. "We are thrilled to be able to bring some of that excitement to our surrounding communities. Hilltopper Nation truly is a nation of fans and supporters who want to see our programs succeed, and we need everyone's help in continuing to grow.

"We also recognize that we have to be visible in the community, so we are happy to bring a coach who has been to seven bowl games, another coach who has been to back-to-back NCAA Tournaments and a third coach who orchestrated the biggest turnaround in conference history, all of whom wear the WKU Red and White, on tour this June."

The "Toppers On Tour" stops are free events, with the Louisville event following the Lee Robertson/Gary Sundmacker Golf Tournament with a buffet dinner available for $20.00. The Elizabethtown stop follows the Heartland Alumni Chapter Golf Scramble, and food and drink will be provided by the Heartland Alumni Chapter.

During all "Toppers On Tour" stops, members of the WKU Ticket Office will be on-hand to answer questions and take ticket orders.
