Andrews, Jackson add preseason honors

WKU senior running back Antonio Andrews and junior linebacker Andrew Jackson have earned preseason All-America honors in the annual Phil Steele's 2013 College Football Preview Magazine, now available on newsstands.

Bowling Green, Ky. - WKU senior running back Antonio Andrews and junior linebacker Andrew Jackson have earned preseason All-America honors in the annual Phil Steele's 2013 College Football Preview Magazine, now available on newsstands.

Andrews was rated as a Third Team All-America selection as an All-Purpose player while Jackson is a Fourth Team All-America selection at linebacker. It is the third preseason honor for Andrews as he was previously named a Third Team All-America selection by the Sporting News as an all-purpose player and an Honorable Mention selection at running back by the Beyond Sports Network. Jackson was previously named a Second Team selection at linebacker by the Beyond Sports Network.

Andrews is also listed as a possible Heisman Trophy candidate by the publication, saying he is one of the individuals who "will put up big stats" and could "split votes with other prime players."

WKU was also featured in some of the ratings for top positional groups in the nation, holding the 20th best group of running backs and 29th best special teams unit in the nation. In addition, five players were listed in the national positional rankings.


Jonathan Dowling is rated as the #13 Free Safety in the nation.

Sean Conway is rated as the #17 Center in the nation.

Kiante Young is rated as the #40 Strong Safety in the nation.

Andrew Jackson is rated as the #2 Inside Linebacker in the nation.

Antonio Andrews is rated as the #18 Punt Returner, #12 Running Back and #9 Kick Returner in the nation.


Season tickets for the 2013 home football schedule are on sale now through WKUSports.com, by visiting the WKU Ticket Office in E.A. Diddle Arena or by calling 1-800-5 BIG RED.

In addition to season tickets, single game tickets for the game with Kentucky in Nashville on Aug. 31 are currently on sale. Tickets are priced at $67 for club level, $47 for lower level sideline, $32 for upper sideline and $22 for upper corner. To ensure seating in the WKU fan sections, all fans are encouraged to order tickets through the WKU Ticket Office. General public tickets may be ordered online at WKUSports.com or by calling 1-800-5-BIG RED or 270-745-5222 locally. Parking passes for this game may be ordered through Ticketmaster.com or through the WKU Ticket Office. The first 4,000 WKU students at the game on August 31 with a valid ID will receive a free ticket to the game. After 4,000, student tickets will be $13.
