Tucker drawing interest from WKU

2015 small forward is hearing from the Toppers staff after quality performances at the Pittsburgh Jam Fest.

After a quality weekend at the Pittsburgh Jam Fest, including 24 points and 9 rebounds in a close loss to Atlanta XPress, Team Charlotte forward Rayjon Tucker has drawn some attention from Western Kentucky's coaching staff.

"They (WKU) called me today (Monday), but texted me on Sunday after I came back from the Under Armour tournament," Tucker said. "I think I played pretty well."

The 6-foot-5, 2015 small forward prospect holds early offers from Presbyterian, Radford, UNC-Greensboro and Wofford, including interest from WKU, Florida Gulf Coast, Clemson and North Carolina Central.

"Nobody really sticks out yet," Tucker said. "I gotta do my research on the schools first, see what I like.

"I'm looking for a family atmosphere, a school that's going to challenge me academically. Right now that's about it, no other priorities yet."

A rising senior at Northside Christian Academy in Charlotte, North Carolina, Tucker is earning a reputation as a forward that can guard multiple positions, and has the athleticism to score in transition at a high rate.

"I bring a lot to the table, rebounding, pushing the ball up-the-court," he said. "Scoring, playing defense.

"I'm working to improve my jumpshot."

WKU fans can watch Tucker this summer at the AAU Super Showcase in Louisville, scheduled for July 22-28.
