Trigg picks the Toppers

6-foot, 205-pound running back is the third in-state commitment for WKU in their 2015 class.

It didn't take long for Glasgow running back Marquez Trigg to make up his mind.

After Western Kentucky's staff offered him last week, the 6-foot, 205-pound prospect announced his commitment today.

"When I went to camp, I had talked to Coach (Greg) Nord and Coach (JaMarcus) Shephard, about last week they had called me and told me they wanted to offer me," Trigg said. "This week I got to talk to my parents and family, when I had went down there for visits I liked the place, liked the coaching staff, campus, so that was it.

"I called Coach Shephard and told him I was ready to commit, he said 'welcome to the Hill.'"

Even though he was just recently offered, he's formed a relationship with the coaching staff for months--similar to WKU's other 2015 in-state commitments.

That effort paid off for the Topper staff, as Trigg said he's now all-in with the program.

"I'm done camping," he said. "And the only visits I'll take in the fall will be to WKU."

As a junior in 2013, Trigg rushed for 1,669 yards and 26 touchdowns, also adding five catches for 102 yards and a touchdown.

He joins Madisonville offensive lineman Cullen Reynolds and Graves County defensive lineman Heath Wiggins in WKU's 2015 class.
