Conditioning Test-August 2, 2007 Are the Hilltoppers ready for the start of the 2007 campaign? (VIDEO INCLUDED)

Coach Jim Nowell is exetremely pleased with the outcome of the teams conditioning test. The conditoning test consists of 16 (timed) sprints across the football field and back. 95% of the team passed the test and most of the few who struggled, were nursing minor injuries.

Coach Nowell gave praise for the team and noted the improvementof the team during the summer strength and conditioning program.

A solid measuring stick for a player's overall strength is the power cling. WKU has thirty players that can power clean 300 pounds or more. While Coach Nowell was at LSU, Mississippi State, and West Virginia, he never had more than fifteen players on a team, at one time, power clean 300 pounds or more.

That is quite a testament to the hard work and dedication the team has put into being ready for fall camp.

Without a doubt the players have worked extremely hard to get ready for the 2007 season. Opening up in the Swamp against the Florida Gators, the defending National Champion, has been on the team's mind all summer- not fear or dread, but with hungry anticipation. This Hilltopper team is determined to make history this season. What better way to make history than to shock the nation by beating the Gators in the Swamp?

Video clips below were made during the afternoon conditioning test.
