#41 Marell Booker led the team in rushing with 12 carries for 103 yards and 2 touchdowns. #1 Tyrell Hayden had 11 carries for 80 yards and 2 touchdowns as well.
Six different receivers had catchers with #24 Brandon Mason recording 2 catches for 31 yards and #86 Quinterrance Coopers recording 1 reception for 31 yards and 1 touchdown.
The Hilltoppers dominated WVT from start to finish. #5 Bo Smith, #20 Clay Stephens and #30 Brad Cloud each recorded an interception.
#53 Dusty Bear wreaked havoc all game long. Bear forced a fumble in the endzone and #91 Chris Walker recoverd for the touchdown. Not be outdone, #13 Andre Lewis forced a fumble and #96 Kyle Anderson recovered and stormed 19 yards for a score.
The Hilltopper defense held WVT to 15 yards of offense for the game. Total domination!
Special teams, for the second game in a row, had played outstanding.
#81 Jessie Quinn had a 41 yard punt return for a touchdown.
#83 Chris James nailed 8 out of 8 extra points and a 27 yard field goals and #86 Zac Minturn hit 4 of 4 extra points as well.
Punter #44 Jeremy Moore had 2 punts for a 42 yard average.
Head Coach David Elson was extremely pleased with how the team jumped all over WVT and kept the pressure on throughout the entire game. Coach Elson, not trying to run up the score, went deep into the depth chart early and often. WKU played well in every phase of the game.
West Virginia Tech was outmanned and overmatched without a doubt. However, Hilltopper fans can't help but come away from this game impressed and fired up for next week when Eastern Kentucky visits the Hill for the "Battle Of The Blue Grass".
